I'm a programmer living and working in Glasgow, Scotland.

Day-to-day, I work with Java, SQL, some JEE technologies, like JPA, and Javascript.

I'm passionate about performance, and really interested in highly-scalable web applications. I enjoy working with legacy code (Crazy, I know!) because of its trove of interesting challenges.

comment Is it fine to use logs in the Helper Methods?
I'd add that it's good to be judicious with logging. In addition to setting the correct logging level, it's important to think about why you're doing the logging, and whether you'll glean (or regret missing) some crucial piece of information at runtime.

comment Where to find common database abbreviations in Spanish
+1 also for the año/ano distinction. You only make this mistake with a Spanish speaker once.

comment Why the recent shift to removing/omitting semicolons from Javascript?
But interesting nevertheless.

Good one. I've been burned by a semicolon-less line or two in an otherwise properly semicoloned file.
