I love developing software :)
I do most of my work with C++, though I have done a fair amount of web programming with PHP. I work a lot with Qt.
Did I mention that I hate Internet Explorer? Don't get me started... (see this post)
If you are looking for a good text editor, I highly recommend PowerPad.
(Yes, I wrote it.)

Advantages and possible drawbacks of using Java for cross-platform development vs. .NET? I agree that Mono is somewhat lacking in core functionality, but it isn't too bad. I had the chance to try it out a bit. |

Why does Microsoft have such a bad reputation with the people involved in open source? @Paulo: Microsoft didn't have a hand in that... for the longest time they were threatening to stop it. |

Why does Microsoft have such a bad reputation with the people involved in open source? Can anyone name a single application for Linux that Microsoft even had a hand in? |

How successful is GPL in reaching its goals? @DavidThornley: There are use restrictions on the GPL: no static linking with a commercial product, for example. |

How successful is GPL in reaching its goals? @sparkie: Because it opens up the software to smaller corporations which can turn around and use them. Smaller businesses have trouble affording the costly alternatives, so a program that is free and also free to use is valuable... and thus increases the need for such software. |

Should I Learn C/C++ Even If I Just Want To Do Web Programming? @david: I started with it. (Well, I did learn QuickBasic first, but that was such a pathetic language that it doesn't even count - I never figured out how to do anything with it.) |

Should I Learn C/C++ Even If I Just Want To Do Web Programming? Skip C++? What is with everyone and discouraging use of C++? Millions of applications are written in C++! Many that you use on a daily basis! |

Are there any compilers that attempt to fix syntax errors on their own? It should be noted that XHTML provided a solution for the mess that HTML's poor specifications created. |
