I am new to programming and I am very interested in C# and Java. Right now my goal is just to learn and have fun.

comment Learning Multiple Languages Simultaneously
I totally agree and I also started with C#. There were many things I encountered in that language that from my beginner's perspective were very hard to grasp and if I did grasp them, understanding what they were for or why they were used was just as hard. I've since learned about a couple other languages and it has made all the difference in the world. Especially since each language is different you can learn different aspects of programming from each language.

I know some C#. It was the first language I learned. Do you think it would be easier to go with ASP.NET or PHP + AJAX like you said. I'm a beginner with web development(programming too but i've been working with the basics longer).

comment How much can one programmer do on his own?
See that's what I was wondering... it may take longer but since you would know what all the code does it would probably be easier to debug. And a great learning experience.

comment How to measure his own skill in a programming language?
Project Euler's problems are almost all math. Couldn't one be an excellent programmer and not be able to solve some of the problems because of a lack of math knowledge. Also, couldn't a mathematician with little programming skills solve them?

comment What should every programmer know about programming?
Sometimes for a beginner it is very hard to see why, beyond the obvious, some things are used. I've read many books that show how to do something but leave me wondering why I would.

comment How do programmers deal with low level software development in high level languages?
I think. I'm wondering if you can just start coding using bytecode or il just like you would java or c#?

I think my biggest problem right now is that a lot of these topics are going to be difficult to grasp because I don't have the background. I need, I guess, a bridge into those areas.

Can you actually program with the intermediate languages or are they just there to examine?
