checking for existence can be valid to some extend. You can't do if(console && console.log && Math && Math.pow){console.log(Math.pow(2,2)}. These are JS and browser standard libs. The same can be for your own libs. In some level, you are not in charge of checking if library is working right. Library has it's own test
