comment Why is it common to put an underscore before a method in JavaScript?
I disagree that "asked and answered on a different site" is a good reason to close. However, we can only speculate why the developers of a specific library chose to name their variables as they did, and that's rarely helpful. I won't be re-opening the question only to close it for a different reason, especially since I don't think it's likely to get a better answer than the one it currently has.

comment Spotify Logfile export to web DB
"Are there already any projects like this?" Please use a search engine for such questions. "Is Spotify providing such a log file?" Please ask Spotify directly. "What you think about my idea?" Awesome!

comment How do you change the visibility of multiple front panel decorations programatically in LabVIEW?
Please don't post exactly the same question on multiple sites. Questions about coding and programming tools are on topic on Stack Overflow, where you've already posted this.

comment Formal justification for use of third-party libraries
Why are non programmers getting involved in highly technical decisions @IanRenton? And how are they going to evaluate whatever technical source you throw at them? I think your explanation is as good as it gets for non programmers.

comment If Scala runs on the JVM, how can Scala do things that Java seemingly cannot?
If it's possible in Scala, then it's possible in Java and every other Turing complete language. The more interesting question is one of practicality rather than one of possibillity.

comment Is Perl used for web development?
"I've heard people saying that Perl isn't used for web development anymore" When you hear such bold claims, always ask for backing evidence. More often than not you'll find out that the claim is pure nonsense.

Try to keep questions concise and to the point. We don't care for any information that doesn't immediately relate to the question. Also, please don't use blockquotes for emphasis. Blockquotes are only meant for when you are actually quoting someone.
