comment What is JavaScript, really?
Here - bharath.lohray.com/index.full.php is the unminified file. It does not work either (IE9).

This post and the research started when jQuery animation did not work on IE9 and I lied the idea of the anybrowser.org campaign and was hoping I could stick to a standard. HTML5 / CSS3 / JS. The JS ended up as the bug in my bonnet.

If I could upvote your answer more than once, I would have done so :-) This does help make a few things more clear. The C compilers analogy makes the situation just a little understandable :-) Except JavaScript is not compiled to binary and the end users see non/quasi-functional scripts. So am I to understand that I cannot build a page to a standard and hope to have it function on all browsers the same yet? (yet being the operative word).

okay :-) The idea was to build something unconventional. It is still alpha as you can see.

@N'over the top'? Is it unintuitive? or does it render bad?

@MadaraUchiha - I agree "just use jQuery. Everything will be ok." will not be okay. That is why I started researching this. My site bharath.lohray.com works well on Chrome and Firefox and the W3C validator does not generate any errors either, but it sucks big time on the newest IE! Moreover, as much as I like the idea of folks at anybrowser.org/campaign , I cannot be truly cross browser!

comment Should I take care of race conditions which almost certainly has no chance of occuring?
The probability of an error due to cosmic radiation is greater than that race condition. One should put more efforts to harden the computer ;-) stackoverflow.com/questions/2580933/… According to the above answer - 1.4 × 10^(-15) is the probability of errors being introduced by cosmic radiation ;-)
