comment Alternative to coding directly on server?
BTW, the github wiki are quite user-friendly but are backed by git underhood. Yyou can provide a dead simple non-technical-user-friendly interface on top of a VCS and let the technical people use the real VCS.

@Gudradain: The devs should really consider using a VCS. VCSs exist since at least 1973, it's not a shiny brand new hipster technology. If the non-tech guys cannot work the VCS directly, some technical people could merge their work with the VCS repo at regular interval.

comment Why are the sizes of programs so large?
Yes, recent browsers do animations, gradients, image filters effects, JavaScript, 2D graphics (canvas), 3D graphics with WebGL, Audio generation, Gamepad (!), Video decoding, advanced client-side-storage, Peer-to-peer communication (WebRTC), Geolocation, WebSocket, WebCryptography, MIDI, access to mic/webcam, notifications, etc.

comment Can you “stop” a C program from being reverse engineered?
@specializt: "C is not compiled into Assembler" Well if we want to be pedantic, it's not true. C can be compiled into many things (assembler, native code, javascript) and on UNIX-ish systems, the compiler usually compiles to assembler and then the compiler driver pipe this assembly to the system assembler. At least this is what GCC does. Recent versions on clang do not do those by default for the architectures (unless the -no-integrated-as option is used). But otherwise I agree with you.

comment TCP and UDP basics: connecting to a website
There is this IETF draft for HTTP over UDP (when the HTTP message fits in a single UDP datagram) but usually HTTP uses any reliable full-duplex stream.

comment Are all magic numbers created the same?
You might consider that 1024 is kibi and #define KIBI as 1024, MEBI as 1024*1024…

comment Why did the creators of the Internet Protocol decide to use IP addresses to identify a particular computer?
See HIP (Host Identity Protocol, RFC4423) for a attempt to add a layer for Host Identifiers (stored as IPv6 addresses) between the network layer and the transport layer.
