I'm a .NET developer that focuses on web technologies.

My weapons of choice are:

  • ASP.NET MVC
  • jQuery
  • WCF
  • NUnit/Moq
  • Umbraco CMS

I also have a strong interest in:

  • UX design / Usability
  • Mobile development, using PhoneGap and Sencha Touch

I like photography and running, I'm not afraid of css and I think twitter is overrated :-)

comment How to be a good programmer?
My advice: Read books. Which books? Google for "recommended programmer books" and read all of them. You're 15 years old, you have time.

comment What is the biggest trouble developers encounter when debugging?
Only thing that seems to work in that situation is extensive logging.

update: the top rated answer on this link seems to answer it pretty well. stackoverflow.com/questions/1440096/… I guess it's very appropriate to name it CarRepository.

Péter, what do you think about naming CarService CarRepository? Or is a repository not meant to contain as much logic as I want to put in it?

ok, good point. Thanks a lot for your advice and suggestions. Was certainly helpful.

I was unsure. Is there a way for me to migrate this to stackoverflow or can that only happen by vote?

I like your naming suggestions, but perhaps CarCacheManager would be more appropriate since CarCache sounds like a class that actually holds the storage, instead of a class that provides an interface with the (memory)storage?

yeah I'm developing this using Test Driven Design for the first time, which forced me to think more careful about this stuff. I understand your point and although I said I'd mainly use CarCacheManager for debugging, I think it's also important that people can quickly see how my application works without depending on an external service. The external service actually talks with Active Directory and MS Exchange Server so it would be nice if I can fake this stuff for demos and developing the GUI. What is your reason not to implement ICarService?

Point 1 can only be solved with hardware.
