I'm a .NET developer that focuses on web technologies and UI.

I love working with JavaScript and I believe that this language will play a major role in future software development.

My weapons of choice are:

  • ASP.NET MVC (+ Web API)
  • jQuery / AngularJS
  • Umbraco CMS
  • Xamarin (iOS Development)

I also have a strong interest in:

  • UX design / Usability
  • Rock Climbing

I'm not afraid of css and I think twitter is overrated :-)

Specialties: Front-end, JavaScript, .NET

comment Is obtrusive JavaScript ever ok?
I've built some gracefully degrading pages in the past and found the html and javascript to be a lot less transparent, if you still want to offer the JS enabled visitors the best user experience. The pages were A LOT harder to build and I believe the guy maintaining the page will have quite some difficulties following your code. So there is certainly a long term maintainability cost to keep in mind when estimating the cost for making your site gracefully degrading. I found it to be very tempting to compromise on the JS enabled UX..

comment Is it appropriate to offer a “finders' fee” to existing staff when looking for new staff?
This reply hardly answers the question imho. The question was not why his company doesn't find new hires, the question was if it's appropriate to offer a finders fee.

Amazing post for someone your age. Do you have a twitter account that I can follow? I'd love to follow your progress.

comment Managers X Motivation
Confront your manager with "do you think I'm not reliable?", that's a good point imo. You could also argue that you can watch whatever you want on your smartphone, but I wouldn't recommend this; might backfire :-)
