comment Password hashing and support to your user
@tdammers i agree it isn't so secure. It has however become the keystone of your online identity (for better or worse). There isn't currently a better viable alternative.

Client certificates are an awfull idea. They are Insecure and a nightmare to fix remotely if something goes wrong. Openid is a good idea though

It's generally better to make it as simple as possible. (KISS). Only optimize the parts that need it. Making changes is better than having an over complicated design

comment Problems (such as maintenance) in development with unpopular language
@quanticle OP states " So, isn't it wrong to do programming in unpopular languages? (for my own fun?)." If there is a strong case for using another language such as concurrency then I agree it would be worth the support problems.

comment Why don't mobile platforms support generational garbage collection?
Windows phone (the current generation) does have garbage collection. It only runs when the device is low on memory msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg490770.aspx

comment Who's the author/creator of the Repository Pattern?
I would note that the authors of these books are very rarely the creator of the patterns. The gang of four explicitly say they didn't create them, they were just documenting commonly used patterns.

comment Is 'process debt' a term people work with
Not sure I agree with the 20% figure. Are you counting time designing, planning and mapping out architecture in your 20% ? That takes up the majority of my time
