The LGPL(v2) allows this by default (if you supply object files): "... if the work is an executable linked with the Library, [you must supply or offer to supply] the complete machine-readable 'work that uses the Library', as object code and/or source code, so that the user can modify the Library and then relink to produce a modified executable containing the modified Library" ... so if you provide linkable object files then you can statically link.

I don't think this should have been closed, at least for the reason given. It was closed for "will likely solicit opinion, debate, arguments, polling, or extended discussion", which is not the case. The comments and single answer so far all "involve facts, references, or specific expertise".
