IT Graduate Associate at Citigroup in Belfast, Northern Ireland

I previously graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Computer Science at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. I also obtained the Certificate in American Business Practice and a Degree Plus award.

I have also completed a 1 year internship at Kofax (formerly Singularity Ltd.) and a 3 month internship at 8over8 in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

In addition, I was selected to represent Northern Ireland for the prestigious Study USA programme, in which I studied 'Business Administration & Management' at a US college for 1 year. I exceeded all requirements of the scholarship, and graduated with a GPA of 3.4.

I have a wide variety of development experiences covering a large range of technologies, such as C# .NET, Java, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, ASP.NET, PHP, SQL, Shell scripting and so on. I also have deep experience developing automated testing solutions.

comment How long to spend estimating programming tasks?
The idea is that if we know that a 1 point task will take 7.5 hours, for example, then we can say that a 5 point user story will take 30 hours, and that a 10 point user story will take 60 hours. For example, we might choose one of the smallest tasks, and the estimated time can be assigned as the value of a single user story point. Then, we can use this user story as a basis for estimating larger tasks. If we think another task will take twice as long, we would assign 2 user story points (15 hours), and so on.
