comment How is the actor model used?
I'm not certain if gnat's edit is directed towards me, but my weapon of choice usually tends to be Haskell. Erlang is definitely a good language. Haskell has traditionally relied on CSPs for concurrency but there are some actor implementations out there.

comment Scala: From concept to working
Since this time, I have spent quite a lot of time invested in learning Haskell. I haven't really come back to Scala yet, but I can see how learning what I have in Haskell would really help me with Scala. Working out so far, once I got over the initial hump and monads clicked, Haskell really does rock pretty hard.
