comment In Knuth's MMIX, how can x be an octabyte (64 bits) and M[x] be a byte (8 bits)?
I am not familiar with the notation, but surely if M[x] is defined as a byte of x then it just is?

comment Are there any good online assessment tools for programmers?
I thought it was quite a reasonable test, challenging but not impossible and it was clear to me how the test results could differentiate candidates (without being too arbitrary). I would have liked a tutorial on the UI (an actual 'live' walk through), but otherwise no complaints!
