How can I tell in an interview if a programmer is passionate about programming?
I recently interviewed a guy, who left a company because they were giving him repetitive work and he wanted to work on something interesting and dynamic. But on asking "what kinds of things do you do outside of work to keep up with technologies?" and "about one of the projects he's worked on that he most enjoyed" he had nothing great to add. But I did feel some passions though. I guess better is judging "if he will give up or keep on going to find a solution".
