comment Will it ever be possible to build quality websites with editors alone, without needing to know HTML?
Your question title could be improved by clarifying that the person doesn't need to know HTML, as opposed to HTML not being used in the process at all.

You might want to re-title the question, then.

comment I'm a manager. How can I improve work relationships and communication with programmers?
Another book worth looking at is Peopleware, by DeMarco and Lister. If you can internalize what's in there, you'll start building much better relationships with your teams.

comment Architecture Review Guidelines for Java/JEE project
This answer would be better if it positioned analyzing whether the architecture addressed the NFRs and/or the implementation satisfied the architecture, rather than reducing it to a statement about NFRs.

I disagree that you can't meet the NFRs. The requirements shouldn't have been accepted if it was not feasible to meet the full set.

Are you asking about how to make decisions on when to freeze the code and move it to production, or about the mechanics of how to move something into production?

comment How do you stop yourself from bringing work home?
@Chris: maybe you need something that requires MORE of a time commitment, in terms of having fixed times where you do it. And, as others have suggested, something physically demanding will help reduce your stress. Something like a two-day-per-week martial arts class would meet both of these criteria. It won't take a lot of hours, but you'll have fixed times when you need to go. This might help you get out of the rut of "it'll take days to take pictures, so I can't do that now, so I'M GETTING MORE STRESSED AAIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
