comment Why do some functional programming languages use a space for function application?
I would like to point out that shell scripts (e.g. bash) generally don't use parameters to call commands. PowerShell sort of has the worst of both worlds in that functions are declared with parentheses and called without them.

Note that VS 2012 can't work with SQL projects or Reporting Services without upgrading them.

comment Indentation: is there any evidence to show whether 2 or 4 spaces is more readable?
@X-Zero Sounds like it would be really annoying for anyone to use another editor.

Why don't you just ask all your developers what they find easier to read? It seems like you're looking for research to convince yourselves about something. Just form an opinion one way or the other and vote on it.

comment Unit testing multiple conditions in an IF statement
Wouldn't there only be eight tests if you tested all possible combinations? Three boolean parameters turned either on or off.

comment What operating systems are used in airplanes, and what programming languages are they developed in?
@haylem I'm sure your interpretation was correct, but looking at the title I wasn't sure. Nice answer, very enlightening.

When I first saw this question I thought it was asking about the systems that run the in-flight movies and such in the backs of seats. I was once on a Delta flight where they rebooted that system and you could tell that it was running Linux, a Debian variant I believe.

comment C# foreach improvements?
@Falcon I agree with Fabricio. Certainly in most situations a regular for loop would be clearer, but that requires indexing and a count. This can be achieved with ToList or ToArray, but that may be expensive an unnecessary. This provides a way to get around that.
