I am a C# programmer who dabbles in Cocoa from time to time. I am a huge console guy, but does enjoy a WinForm or WebForm app or two. Also part time grad student. Also trying to learn Silverlight.

Arguments for and against backwards compatibility for new iOS projects @MichaelKohne The first link is about an actual number, and the second one while closer is looking for a percentage breakdown of devices and is almost two years old. While there maybe a duplicate on SO neither of the questions you present are duplicates. |

Why don't research papers that mention custom software release the source code? @codingFriend1 You are being extremely unfair and bias about academia. Here is a hint, if you can't understand an academic paper it is not targeted to you. |

What would you do if your client required you not to use object-oriented programming? @tp1 1) You assume the client is technically smarter than the programmer, which isn't the case since client is just that the client. 2) FP is older than OOP and while it is getting a lot of press lately, there is nothing wrong with OOP and you don't need to forget to use FP 3) The worse part of this is that assume FP is better and using FP makes you a better programmer, is is only true in a case by case and in this case that seems not to be true. |
