comment How can I avoid editing conflicts repeatedly when merging from one to branch to another?
Thank you @MasonWheeler. I'm going to use tags for deployments to testing stages. I thought I understood tags, but I was wrong. This should solve my problem.

@gnat I'm trying to setup a system where the trunk exists as the "production" code base. Anything in the trunk is considered "live". Then the Dev, QA, and UAT branches are for each level of testing (QA is the QA website, UAT is the UAT website). I'm obviously not doing this correctly.... Trying to figure it all out....

Hi @Wyatt, I'd love to investigate what you're talking about. Could you elaborate and post a link? Thanks.

comment How should I track approval workflow when users at every security level can create a request?
The original reason I asked this question was to figure out a way to simplify my client-side validation. Right now I'm going with Case 2 above, but I need additional validation to allow the Request to be submitted with "APPROVED_LEVEL2" status for certain users. Otherwise, I'd have to submit with "USER_SUBMIT" then programmatically "re-submit" it with "APPROVED_LEVEL2".

Funny. I asked this same question on SO a week ago and it got closed. Glad to see this question alive somewhere!
