comment Why is the sudden increase in number of Git submitters on Debian popcon graph in 2010-01?
Yeah, it still goes from linear growth to exponential, which is very significant, even if it wasn't quite as sudden as it first appears

comment Why is CSS3 doing animations?
I'd hardly say simple fade ins and transitions are "interactivity"...plus I'm quite content not to have to load jQuery just to change link color with a fade-in...

comment Is there any evidence that drugs can actually help programmers produce “better” code?
You really need to define "drugs" here. Sudafed will improve my programming if I have a cold. Caffeine will improve my programming if I'm tired. There's also cognitive enhancers, alcohol, hallucinogens, barbituates, sedatives, tranquilizers... IMO this is Not a Real Question until "drugs" is better defined. Any given drug can significantly impair (or possibly improve) almost any functioning depending on the usage.

comment Under which circumstances (if any) does it make sense to work for a startup, for free?
If you're a co-owner they're (you're) almost certainly paying you, unless it's a garage-band style operation with zero income

comment Sharing a database while we work on local copies?
@ScottWhitlock technically DB source control isn't the same as just wanting to see each other's inputs to the database for test data
