I can understand LINQ to SQL or LINQ to Entities being slower than raw ADO.NET, but why do you think LINQ to Objects is slow? compared to what?

@back2dos: Classes are extensible, interfaces are not. That's the main reason to choose classes over interfaces. If you change an interface you break other people's code. If you change a class you can provide a default implementation and/or make the new feature optional.

IDisagree, interfaces are not extensible, if you change it you break all implementations. You can always add members to classes.
