"As an engineer, you have much more power to negotiate wages and working conditions on your own". I actually don't think they do, look at the unpaid overtime in the industry.

this is incorrect. analysis paralysis would be not being able to write code out of endless analysis of every single exhaustive list of possible outcomes. My question was asking is it okay to think ahead of time before coding an application which is not trivial and needs to follow pre laid out requirements. downvoting.
