comment In the days of modern computing, in 'typical business apps' - why does performance matter?
One other thing to keep in mind re algorithm choice: due to libraries and abstractions, a lot of algo choices have been made already for you or at least "under the hood". You should still know the implications of them on performance. And that performance does matter.

comment Can a closed-source programming language survive?
+1 but the title vs actual question is a bit misleading. Survival isn't the same as success.

comment Coded UI test Automation Technique
I think your question is way too broad as is. UI automation is a surprisingly large topic with many arguments for and against.

comment What Kind of Source Control Do High Security Projects Use?
@delnan If a hacker got a clone URL and access to a network, they'd potentially get the entire project and history of a project. Does that sound secure?

comment At what point is version control needed?
Good point but I'd say these days source control is just as beneficial on non-professional environments as well.

comment How to Deal With The “Automation is Easy” Mindset?
Great post, but the big problem: what happens after you log in? Most of this logic starts to get really flaky.

comment What are proven advantages of tools like GWT over pure JavaScript frameworks?
Have to argue a bit with the Unit testing benefit. Java has better unit testing support and tooling for sure, but GWT does not out of the box, necessarily.
