comment In Scrum, what to do when story points and task hours don't roughly correlate?
As you said, recording everything will get you resistance. Just ask everyone what tasks took longer than they initially though. can the team identify a pattern between the stories that take longer, like learning a new technology, or solving integration issues? And then discuss about possible actions on those kind of tasks, like for example pair programming

comment Does a time estimate equal a promise in Scrum?
did you ask your ScrumMaster before asking here? Cause it sounds like you haven't. Trusting your SM may have a better impact on your project than getting those questions answered.

comment How to account for a bug fixing iteration?
"We have implementing Scrum quite successfully ... without ever doing any end-to-end integration test." Sorry you've done it wrong. You were supposed to be able to ship at the end of each iteration.

comment How do you avoid disrupting the flow of work when the Product Owner asks for a release?
"The teams work flow, or cadence changes each time the stop trigger is set" Why? what kind of change exactly?

I know this is not Scrum by the book . But they have business obligations with the old product, so yeah it is mainly about product support, but if the ROI justify it, that can imply new features as well

comment Should I learn design patterns or algorithms to improve my logical thinking skills?
He was talking about datastructure and algorithm. what I meant to say was, most of the time, chances are there is an API already covering your needs. I've seen so many time ppl writing hundreds of LOC to build an algorithm that the API already does better. In other words, before looking for an algorithm to solve an issue, look at the API.
