Thanks for the book tip, but you did not state Folwers refactoring methods anywhere in your post, so I assumed you meant refactoring to your own set of standards. Which might be another set of standards by your co-workers, resulting in the neverending stories and holy wars. Therefor refactoring is not always the answer.

@bold: no, of course there is no way, but to refactor all the code you come across seems a bit overkill to me.. Just learn to adjust to other peoples code style, instead of refactoring (and perhaps breaking) working code.
