I've recently completed my MSc Computer Science from a UK institution, and have moved back to the US to begin work. I write in my spare time, enjoy cooking, and apparently am addicted to signing up for SE sites :).

Is there an established convention for separating Windows file names in a string? Oh, the quadruple-backslash, how we love thee... |

How to port this architecture to .net? Can I do this with the built-in unit testing tools? |

How to port this architecture to .net? @Oded Do you want to make an answer with some frameworks that support this? I did look briefly into the idea of using unit tests to accomplish this but I wasn't sure I could segregate them in this manner, it's definitely work looking into. |

How to port this architecture to .net? @Euphoric Yes. This isn't normal software; again, if I explained what we were making the workflow would make sense, but I don't feel comfortable getting into too much detail (I'm probably being silly about it, but better safe than sorry when corporations are involved) |

How to port this architecture to .net? @Oded We'd like to be able to unit test other parts of the code, and we don't want all the software functions to run in their entirety during a build because many of them won't work on the build server. Can we segregate unit tests so that some of them are required for a build to be acceptable and some of them don't fire during the build sequence? |

Why is it called a 'Here Document'? Sure, but I wouldn't call a picture a 'document', even if it fulfills some of the technical requirements outlined in Wikipedia |
