comment How does Functional Programming's immutability feature work with CQS?
Thanks for your answer, Jules. "All such interaction is explicit in the signatures" -> am I correctly understanding this as "because its signature will mention eg a monad, Success/Failure,... you know it's a command?" How does that relate to eg reading from a file, which is a Query but can also be represented by Success/Failure or (I think) a monad? Could you explain a bit further?

@Euphoric possibly, but as far as I comprehend monads (I don't), doesn't the use of monads require returning them as well, thus breaking cqs?

comment Corporate Framework: good or bad?
@Caleb The question is not about encapsulating logic, if it was I'd agree with you. I'm rather talking about an inhouse framework to automate development of webpages, forms, ... for clients outside the company

@GSto with the difference that both ASP.NET and assembly are standards inside their industry. The key point is that a corporate framework is NEVER an industry standard

if you're talking about frameworks like WPF/Ruby/jQuery/..., those skills are kinda universal in the industry, and can be taken with you.

comment Helping junior programmers get past their shortcomings?
I don't think you should be irritated when people don't know things you'd expect them to know. What's important is that they're willing to learn =)
