comment Dota 2 running on Linux, Mac and Windows - How do they do it?
@Ali.S I understand. Valve has been using SDL for a number of years (7 I think?) and I do believe the first ports were released using SDL 1.2, SDL's age doesn't mean much because it merely simplifies the things that need to be simplified and doesn't force a specific graphics API or way of doing things down your throat. Hell, I could go back to 1.0 and still port a modern game provided that it uses OpenGL

@MichaelT Games do use it, but Valve doesn't. Monogame is not as serious as a platform as some people might think and the comparison between Braid and Dota for instance really doesn't stand up that much

@Ali.S Positive. SDL is not dated at all, they just reached their 2.0 milestone very recently and remain extremely popular for game developers large and small.

comment How to get different resources in a single endpoint in RESTful?
Do companies and users have any relation? Could this be as simple as something like /company/(:x)/user/(:x)?

Though new, Laravel is very stable. I think that component removed alone will answer your question.

comment Centrally managing 100+ websites without bankrupting a small company
The back story is what scared me away from answering this. It seems you need to do have a "come to jesus" in terms of managing multi-source data remotely.

comment Where to start when digging into an existing J2EE codebase?
Sadly not a soul. I work in a very obscure environment and the old developers were all let go, leaving nobody who knew anything about one of the more important products sold by the company.
