Exactly. But then the question arises why UML with all of its pointlessly strict rules, and its consequently bloated tools to create UML, in the first place? Simple polygons and ellipses, connected by lines and arrows do just as good a job, if not a better one, at conveying intent as does UML.

Except when the database isn't good at it. PL/SQL has terrible performance in e.g. MySQL. The DBMS you end up using is a trade-off of various features and properties. Thus adding PL/SQL as an additional requirement, in order to handle logs, doesn't solve this problem but just diverts it.
