A programmer. I like hacking in several languages (Racket, JavaScript, Python, Java, C) perhaps a little too much.

I did my undergrad at UC Berkeley, spent some time programming for The Arabidopsis Information Resource in Palo Alto, then did a PhD at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. I've also been a guest at Brown University in Providence, RI and a postdoc at the University of Utah.

I'm currently building a programming environment on the web: http://wescheme.org. If you use it, please give me feedback! I'd love to improve the system. I'm also developing a Racket->JavaScript compiler: http://hashcollision.org/whalesong.

I enjoy playing Go (the game, not the programming language) and hiking in my spare time.
