@ElliottFrisch, I see, so it's more complicated than what I expected. I guess it'll also be different depending on the country. A better question would be "what's the most commonly accepted practice for this scenario?"

Sorry if I didn't formulate the question correctly. I have absolutely no clue about licensing or legal aspects of software. Also, when googling about this I couldn't find a straight answer.
