You may be confusing doing a lookup with generating the index. The latter is going through the entire table but is done before your query.

stackoverflow.com/questions/7639224/javascript-multithreading would note some multi-threading in brosers for a source on my side. Do you have a source that says JS only runs in 1 thread and can't split execution to more than that thread?

How well do you understand the maintenance costs associated with using other tools and platforms? Have you thought this part through if it does add a lot of overhead for those maintaining the infrastructure, I'm not sure you have a good solution in this case.
