Love C++ and Python programming, and mess with mathematics and algorithms.

Brief material on C++ object-lifetime management and on passing and returning values/references Hey thanks. I think that your first 5 points should be understandable to any newcomer. And for the others she will need to do some research, but that's ok. |

Do functional generics exist and what is the correct name for them if they do? I kind of agree with @Euphoric: the mixture of C# with something that looks like Funcdeps is not good. I kind of disagree in considering that OOP is a good answer always, but then, OOP tends to scale better than FP (if FP=<Haskell-by-the-average-Joe>). |

Choose C++ or Java for applications requiring huge amounts of RAM? @MikeNakis Thanks Mike. Though it is more likely that I will have rather simple code, just big data. And having been with C++ for eleven years, I sort of like it ;-) |

Choose C++ or Java for applications requiring huge amounts of RAM? Have any of you programmed for a big-data, processor-hungry project? Any comments there? |

Choose C++ or Java for applications requiring huge amounts of RAM? Agree with the cheap-memory part. As for development, I have been in C++ for a while and good coding practices make leakages a rather infrequent phenomenon; as a matter of fact, I really prefer C++ over java in that regard. |

Choose C++ or Java for applications requiring huge amounts of RAM? Thanks for your answer Emilio. I'm well aware of C++'s flexibility and feel inclined to agree with you. Then again, I would like to know some real-wold usage examples where these techniques have been used to success. |

Hiring programmers for small companies? Yes, I know of talented programmers that will happily work from 10 to 15 per hour, as that's enough to make a living on the countries they live in. This group (two programmers), for example: alesstidycraft.net |
