I currently combine my scientific background with my software engineering skills, and apply them to high-end R&D projects. My specialities are data analysis, software engineering, and clear communication of complex subjects.

I am fluent in R and Python, and comfortable programming IDL, Fortran and Bash. In addition, I have some experience in C++ and JavaScript.

For more details on my work, publications and software, please checkout my website. In addition, my bitbucket account contains a number of software projects I worked on. For a more complete breakdown of my career path until now, I refer to my linkedin profile.

comment Should we use any JS framework which makes HTML as scripting language
+1, however one of the points of the OP was that although this might be a good idea for a developer, it makes the page harder to comprehend for a designer (his words). What do you think?

comment Fortran 90 - How to create a coordinate system
In addition, if you do not know where to start, ploughing through some introductory material helps (e.g. online tutorials). Once you have more Fortran context, you might either solve your problem, or know what to ask for.

comment Do higher resolution laptop displays matter for programmers?
@TMN I would get a 23-27 inch external monitor and use the laptop screen as an extra screen. I would the external screen mainly, and the laptop screen for additional stuff.

comment What is the definition of “Big Data”?
In addition, before big data became a big thing, many companies and research institutes already did big data things. Only now with all the social media / online big data challenges has it become more main stream.

comment Using industrial earmuffs while programming to filter out talking
The expensive ones get customised to your inner ear shape, and a lot of factory workers have to use them continuously, so they are bound to be relatively comfortable.

comment Term for accidental features
@MasonWheeler some, especially non-technical clients, might take such a remark as a sign that you are incompetent as you do not fully understand what you did. They then underestimate the complexity of a large software system.
