I'm a C#, Java, and ASP (Classic) developer professionally.

I do workflow systems, a little Activity Based Costing, and regular old business systems.

In my free time I play with Groovy Grails and Java on linux.

comment Should QA find reproducible scenarios?
One problem with a lot of the other answers is that they ignore that there are factors out side the QA groups direct control, like memory consumption, file space etc. If the file space fills up and they get an error, but it get cleaned up by Cron and they can't repo, that's something they legitimately can't repo, but you should still know.

comment Why is sizeof called a compile-time operator?
Because C(++) doesn't have run-time object metadata you can't really get those things at run time either.

comment Do iterative methods reduce cyclomatic complexity and improve supportability?
Hi Ace. It's an example, intentionally devoid of semantic content to highlight the structure.

comment Remembering user credentials in standalone Application
Are these for your app, or are they used against some service that requires auth? The answer below asserts you are authenticating against the app itself.

comment How can I make a case for “dependency management”?
I looked at The Twelve Factor App, but it's extremely contentious, and only a very little bit is relevant. Also pushing Maven doesn't help me explain why we need dependency injection. Overall this answer doesn't help me sell Dependency Injection, just tells me a lot of things I need to do for my build process.

comment Is there tool agnostic terminology for source control activities?
@Minthos The point is to be able to discuss all the available tools and the process in a way that the team can all understand. Shilling for Git doesn't help that in any way.

@JohanKarlsson The environment does have multiple (old) VCS's, and multiple desired (new) VCS's.

comment Solutions to C# 5 async re-entrancy
@ironcode No, it's a very much a code question, how do you simply make the appropriate UI changes before/after you await? Throwing up a dialog is a proposed workaround for the code issue.

Just curious why this question is here and not SO? This is definitely about code so it would belong there I think ...

comment Why don't all companies buy developers the best hardware?
Good points all around, though I would point out some business application setups require more power (RAD-WAS, local DB, etc).

@Frustrated simply because I've seen it referred to both ways. If they're two different things, please let me know.
