@gnat Well, I think it's better to have junior developers commit their code somewhere else and then merge those changes into the trunk by a senior developer after s/he reviews them and makes sure those changes are fine to be in the trunk. You know, a senior developer, after reviewing the code committed directly into the trunk may decide that this code has problems as should be rolled back. We could have prevented this problematic code from being committed into the trunk in the first place. That's the whole idea.
