comment Why do some programming languages have break statements, but not higher-order break statements?
"higher ordered" is not a good term for this... it has another meaning in computer science

comment Is it acceptable to upload offensive content to GitHub?
I think there are plugins for many editors that make editing rot13 files no harder than editing any other file that's in a specialized format

comment Does your company have a written policy about contributing to open-source projects?
Not every "contract" you sign is legal and enforcable. Unless what you are doing on your own time, and using your own space and equipment, competes directly with your employer, they would have a difficult time enforcing anything as draconian as "you can't write code that's not for us". Imagine a car repair technician who was forbidden from fixing his own car?

comment How should I go about developing some basic C/C++ knowledge so that I can grok the concepts written in some Classic software programming books?
If you want C/C++ knowledge... write programs in C/C++. There is no other way.
