comment Standard semantic name for 3rd table in 3NF
@VirtuosiMedia - You need to be consistent with yourself. It's very smart to ask what standards are out there. The next important step is to consistently follow it. 100% adoption of a good standard is better than 70% adoption of a perfect standard. Internal consistency is what's important. I've been in several places where people argue the minutia of standards to death, and then don't follow the "Perfect Solution" that they come up with.

comment Should I Correct Candidates' Interview Answers?
@pdr - Re: Selling - It's always good to be polite. What I mean by selling is after I have enough data to decide positively, I stop asking and start subtly selling. Your point is very valid though - today's candidate is tomorrow's customer. On liability - I mean the situation where you might get sued for not hiring someone. I don't know the full legal risks (I haven't been sued) but BigCompanyHR gave the advice there. I don't have ego issues with being proven wrong, but perhaps someone could sue the company if they double-check your answers.

comment Cost of design based on the cost of programming
Great points. You pretty much pre-wrote my response. One thing to add... It is hard to imagine you could know the programming size to a higher degree of accuracy than design.
