If you have any questions about the moderation on Programmers, please post a question on meta or chat. Any other attempts at communication will be ignored.

I've been a developer for over 30 years in one form or another. I learnt Pascal at University and my first job was programming in Fortran 66. I've since moved to C# & .NET via Ada, C and C++.

Over the years I've worked for companies of all sizes from 3 person startups to multi-national organisations with 1000's of employees. I've also worked at all levels from junior programmer to team lead/technical architect and one stint as a manager. I've seen various development methodologies from classic waterfall to Scrum implemented and used with varying degrees of success.

comment How to assure users that website and passwords are secure
I would probably be worth asking any follow up questions on Information Security to make sure you get the very best, up to date advice . (That doesn't mean you're getting bad advice here, just that we're not necessarily security professionals).

@MartijnVerburg - we can't mark questions as duplicates across sites. Answers really do need to be able to stand alone.

@axrwkr - I misread the question when I first commented. The question is a shopping recommendation and therefore not suitable for Stack Exchange at all.

comment voting system to select next set of product features
@axrwkr - no. This is a shopping recommendation which is off topic/not constructive everywhere on the network.

comment Solving the last mile problem in software engineering
@davidk01 - "not looking for a specific answer" really means that this is a "list question" and therefore not constructive. Also, it's not possible to make it Community Wiki.

comment What are the differences between QA engineers and software engineers?
@Kazark - I marked this as a duplicate over a year ago! I can't remember why I did now. There don't appear to be any flags so I was probably using the close /review queue. If you feel it's not a duplicate flag it for moderator attention so one of the other moderators can review it.

This is far too broad a question for Stack Exchange to cope with.

comment When do you use float and when do you use double
@SeanMcSomething - Fair point. However, floats are still the wrong type though and given the floating point types available in most languages you need "high precision" to get "exact values".
