+1. Using SO as the sole resource to learn a language will almost certainly make you a problem user. SO is not a replacement for proper fundamental learning materials.

@Jarrod yes, but that has nothing with actually working for free for a client. It is to highlight how much of the hourly rate is eaten by expenses one doesn't have as an employee. I'll clarify (Edit: You beat me to it, the edit is great.)
