I like ale.

I try and get computers to do what I tell them with varying degrees of success.

I've told the Playstation what to do, I've yelled at a PC via DirectX and OpenGL and I've even written shader assembly code.

Until recently I was working in java, C++ and Flex trying to get cross platform software to behave properly and now I am dipping my toes in the C# world working on digital delivery tools for the games industry.

One day when I get chance I will look at mobile development but that might have to wait until tomorrow....

comment Establish/meet deadlines when I am constantly working with unfamiliar platforms and frameworks
Do you need to specialize? Is there anything wrong with being "good" at lots of things? I would argue that being able to pick up new things quickly and run with them is a skill in itself. I also personally find it interesting to have new things thrown at you on a regular basis!

comment Should I log trivial fixes?
I'm not going to vote it down but I disagree with this as a general rule (although in most cases I can see it makes sense!). What if you had an "off by one error" that had shipped, but slipped through the QA net? It takes longer to log than to fix ....

I personally agree with you...however, it was still "Bob who worked in porn" to the majority of people!

comment Should a test plan account for configuration values?
I like the idea generally, as generating random valid inputs can help find errors arising from situations that you never considered but if you can test for "all possible configurations" I see no reason not to and therefore no need for random inputs.
