Writing code vs Figuring out the answer to a problem? No, I'm just saying, thinking it through in code is a better idea than thinking it through on paper. |

Writing code vs Figuring out the answer to a problem? I feel once you have a system level design, say you're writing a function that interfaces with some API or implements some algorithm that's of a moderate difficulty, they can be thought through much easier by just writing code instead of, say, reading through the entire API documentation or writing pseudo code for the algo on paper? |

How do programmers in the West see programmers in the East? "If you go to an Indian grocery shop and ask for blankets / jewelry / shark fins / whatever, the owner will say "yes sir, in a moment", then sends out his boy to some other shop in the neighbourhood to fetch the product and proudly presents it to you." - I lol'd. |
