comment Why do code generators always use fully-qualified identifiers?
@MainMa I didn't say they used using statements. You should avoid the using statements because if two using statements both have a Font type in them you get the same problem of which Font is correct.

FYI OCaml has this and calls it time travel. See: caml.inria.fr/pub/docs/manual-ocaml-4.00/manual030.html

comment Is there a difference between a component and a module
I am not after points, more after making sure you get a valid answer. If you find this valid, then feel free to edit your question and add the link as the answer you prefer. I will not post it as an answer because the question is too general and a specific answer can get others into trouble.

See Class vs. Component vs. Control Note: I am not answering because your question does not mention langauge or architecture.

Which language? Which architecture? Your definition of module works. I think of a component as something that plugs into something for say a GUI while a module can not plug into a GUI; modules can work in a GUI if wrapped/supported by GUI constructs.

@Giorgio I'm glad you found "Cognitive dimensions of notations" interesting. I use the SO sites to learn from and to pass on information when it may benefit others. I am also glad you watched the video with enough detail to disagree with parts of it in relation to your question. If you learned something then I have achieved something of benefit with my answer. :)
