Daily standups- yea or nay? I also found this very helpful for communication, but you also have to make sure you define tasks that are small enough that you can see progress. Otherwise you get people saying "working on the UI" for a whole month, and that's not very helpful. I would suggest you read the Scrum/Agile book and try to implement the whole processes rather then just the meeting. |

If one is to learn a new programming language each year, what should the list be? I agree, don't concentrate on languages, learn the paradigms. Also learn programming fundamentals, algorithms, design patterns, objects, etc... |

Is it okay to use a language that isn't supported by your company for some tasks? Comment them as whenever possible. Helps to quickly see what's going on, rather than trying to figure out what the heck you're doing. |
