comment Getting coders to do code review
Good suggestion, but I am unsure about how to recruit someone directly into reviewing without having them first produce some great code, which I can review?

@david.pfx Thank you for your comments. I am using GitHub.com and the reviewing is of pull requests, which are automatically deployed on our test server, so I do not know how I could make the reviewing easier, but I might be missing something. I am guessing that it just is not fun... But what should I do about that?

comment How should the database schema be migrated?
I mean that I will always upgrade version by version, which simplifies things a lot I think.

PostgreSQL and PHP

Since this is a web application, there would never be a need to upgrade from version 2.813 to 2.9.3 I would upgrade the only database for every version.

@Ian I completely agree, I was hoping to reduce both the pain and effort... Database compare would help, but I really need a process.

comment How can we avoid having to build yet another CRM system from scratch
I meant Customer Relationship Management not Content Management System, I am sorry for the confusion. I still believe that your answer kind of applies, though.

comment Service to test app on all the iPhones?
@ElYusubov There does not seem to be any emulators. Google got me nowhere.

comment How can one manage thousands of IF…THEN…ELSE rules?
Wow, this really seems like the best and easiest way to structure the intricate rules. I believe it is better than any current answer so I have accepted it even if it has no votes.

comment Testing Git competence
I could have implemented the same using a mail-in service, taking me a month of setup in order to scale etc. While this solution is better and takes me a setup of writing one single sentence in the specifications.

@user827992 Excellent point. I thought that all developers needed to enroll. Thanks for the information.

It seems like only the developer has to enroll: readwriteweb.com/mobile/2010/12/…

@user827992 Thanks for asking. I mean the user experience. But using some sort of emulator would be fine, I think.

That is the reason why our organization does not have managers: Open-Org.com ;)

comment Does the LGPL allow me to do this?
LGPL 3.0 states: "Defining a subclass of a class defined by the Library is deemed a mode of using an interface provided by the Library." So this should be allowed, at least under LGPL 3.0.

comment Is it considered “conveying” if I share modified LGPL v3 code on GitHub?
@KarlBielefeldt Excellent question (btw. that got you a vote in the moderator election, hope you want to get elected). I was considering modifying the source code and release the modifications (on GitHub) under a non-free license. It seems like there will be restrictions on the kind of modifications that can be released under a different license once the software is conveyed.
