comment Are there any unions for software developers?
@Franck - The Communication Workers Union covers IT and I'm pretty sure there's another one one of the guys who works for me is a member of though I can't remember which one off the top of my head - it's possible a more local (Scottish) one. In other places I've worked IT workers have been part of industry specific unions - at NatWest (now Royal Bank of Scotland) IT staff were commonly part of one of the banking unions.

comment What is the right level of site blocking for you as a developer?
@Pierre303 - I was trying to make a joke about how today no Flash and no ActiveX is considered pretty much normal and even desirable. Obviously 10 years ago it wasn't the case.
