Why is 80 characters the 'standard' limit for code width? @Oded How exactly punchcard`s 80x12=960bit=120bytes, related to 80 columns (7 or 8 bit) on a terminal ? Maybe 80x24=1920 is just the closest fit for 2kb of RAM that terminals had. |
