I'm also trying to use OneNote for this. i do not use outlook, but my email manager allows to drag and drop emails to OneNote. But I don't have any integration with version control and project files in my local folders.

@SK-logic You say that implementing a DSL is easy. Can you point to a good book/tutorial describing how to do this? Can you tell how you usually implement a DSL? And how a DSL is better than a library written in, say, C++?

@Pedro Romano, yes I understand the the letter keys would have been used with some modifier(s). My point was that the i, j, k, l key arrangement would be much more comfortable than the f, b, p, n.

I understand that emacs is very customizable. But when writing code I constantly find myself moving my cursor around and I think it's a very significant part of working with a text. I thought that the point of binding cursor keys to letters was to avoid removing the right hand from the home row. Do you use arrow keys or Ctrl-b,f,p,n for cursor moves?

@Pedro Romano, I'm curious about why these keys were chosen as default settings. I suppose many emacs users do use these bindings. It would be strange if everybody would change the basic key bindings and nobody would use the default. And if I were to use vi key bindings in emacs wouldn't it be easier to install vi in the first place?

Thanks, that looks very much like the list-of-languages-to-learn that I have :) When you say "language A and B" do you mean that it's enough to study one of them? I thought that studying common lisp over scheme would be enough to get all the ideas of the "lisp family" languages. Do you list APL and J because they are array-based programming languages? Don't you think that functional programming is a superset of array-based programming? Do you think that APL and J have some ideas which are not covered by, say, Mathematica and MATLAB?

In your opinion, what would be a set of programming languages which covers all the interesting features? So if I decide to learn every interesting feature I will only need to learn this small set of languages.

It's very intuitive to me. The problem is that to other people the opposite priority numbering is intuitive.

Another reasoning (opposite to highest number - highest priority) is when you imagine a line of people at a checkout counter. The first one in line has highest priority.

I think that for any task 3 priorities are enough. But to be on a safe side I'll make it 10.

Sometimes you need to add something which has lower priority.
