An enthusiastic and driven self-learner with strong foundations in Windows support and T-SQL and an interest in SQL Server internals. Focused on expanding knowledge and strengthening acquired skills.

Database Administration: Experienced installing, configuring and administering SQL Server 2005 and 2008(R2). Good understanding of execution plans and what influences the query optimizer’s[sic] decisions. Installed and tested SQL Server Denali CTP1. Limited use of MySQL with Wordpress and Xbox Media Centre.

Development: Experience developing and refactoring SQL objects and Queries with a set based approach. Comfortable writing reports and basic Integration Service packages. Able to read through pages written in ASP.Net(C#), Classic ASP and Java Script to determine what queries are passed to SQL Server. Also have basic understanding of PowerShell.

Operating Systems: Experience installing, configuring and administering Windows XP, 7, Server 2003 and 2008(R2) as well as Ubuntu Server and OS X. Knowledge of ESXi and other VM-Ware products. Networking: Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS. Comfortable creating DNS records in MS DNS Server and have basic knowledge of MS ISA Server.

Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills. Led training sessions and wrote accompanying documentation. At ease discussing both technical and non technical topics with clients by phone, email and face to face.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Glen. The volumes are all of the same fixed size. It is possible to store all objects on the same volume (it would probably best to not assume this though). Regarding the sequence, I can see how it isn't clear, hopefully the following clarification will help. Some processes are executed in parallel. e.g. Step 1 A is read from and B is written to. Step 2, A and B are read from and C is written to. Step 3, A and C are read from and D is written too. Once again thanks for your help.
