comment What counts as an IDE?
The definition might be a little fuzzy and subjective.

comment How should I get my code ready for OpenSourcing it and putting it on GitHub?
If you have any sensitive information in the code, you might need to be careful to remove it from past commits as well (if you've already started using version control). An easy way to do that would be to create a completely new repository for the public version, but that might not be the best approach.

comment Why is Mercurial considered to be easier than Git?
@Canageek: If you care, Bitbucket supports git now. (Actually, they announced the support 2 days after your post.)

comment How have languages influenced CPU design?
@TMN: The Z-80 still gets used. The graphing calculators I've used in school use the Z80. (edited)

comment Good resources for learning about recursion
@JesseC.Slicer: I suppose it had to be done. Sigh. I kind of think I've maybe done that once . . . if so, I'm just as bad.

comment When are multimethods useful in practice?
Having to define (plus float integer) and `(plus integer float) seems a little unfortunate. For every pair of nonidentical numerical types you wanted to use, you would have to define two methods. One could just call the other, but you'd still have to write it. I suppose a macro could help with that.

comment Would a statically typed alternative to JavaScript on webpages be practical?
I'd just add that the only reason why it might not be practical is the current situation. If we were back at the point just before Javascript was released, things would be different.

Just pick up C compiler, aim, and fire.

comment What is a dotted pair's analogy in other Lisp implementations?
In other LISPs (cons) is a list pair builder. It looks from the first error message that (cons) is a Clojure function but doesn't allow arbitrary data as the second argument.

comment I've released a software product - how do I maximize exposure given no budget and limited time?
What kind of application is it? Who is your target audience? If you're targeting programmers, you could mention it on Hacker News (got the idea from Jeremy Heiler's post).
